Penn Yan Larosse on the web and the 2000 Turkey Shoot
Penn Yan's 2001 season is right around the corner!! The team is practicing hard to keep its highly competitive team on its track towards the State Championship!! Penn Yan has worked hard to build what it is today!! Including bringing up good young players to experience what it takes to be a Varsity Lacrosse player in Penn Yan!! Over the summer Coach Queener and Coach Hobart took the Varsity team to Lacrosse camp at Alferd University to keep the Penn Yan lacrosse players games up. Players interacted with players from teams such as Horse Heads which was different. Over the summer player also had the option to play in the Box league which is alot of fun and it also keeps the players in shape plus keeps them practicing. Player are split up into teams which I played for the American Legion which is one of the area businesses willing to help support Penn Yan Lacrosse Program. The Varsity Lacrosse also competed in the Turkey Shoot which is held every November. 65 teams played in this tournement which includes top ranked New York and Canadiean teams. Penn Yan pulled out on top beating Liverpool, New York in the Championship!!! Teams were spread out acrossed Ithaca playing teams at 2 different locations. |
